INITIATIVE FOR STUDENT-CENTERED TEACHER TRAINING IN EASTERN EUROPE - A nation-wide intensive ELT training program promoting student-centered teaching strategies and curriculum development for public schools throughout Moldova
The Initiative for Student-Centered Teacher Training in Eastern Europe (ISTTEE) is an intensive professional development program promoting contemporary teaching strategies in classrooms around Moldova. This nation-wide program brought together a cohort of top EFL educators from eight geographically, culturally, and linguistically diverse communities and was run in partnership with local curriculum specialists.
This professional development course was six 90-minute modules held over the course of two days of intensive training and combined seminars and hands-on workshops. Modules covered flipped classrooms, peer-to-peer teaching techniques, and dynamic CLIL approaches to teaching academic speaking and writing. Additionally, local curriculum experts dived into lesson planning strategies to incorporate student-centered teaching into classrooms in compliance with Ministry of Education regulations.
